RTX 4070 Ti, formerly RTX 4080 12GB, specifications and model leak

RTX

Several supposed revelations of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti have been emerging lately, and the fact that this is repeating itself in different parts of the globe makes one begin to suspect whether they are real accidents or if, on the contrary, they are movements that correspond to a marketing campaign.

Last Friday, NVIDIA's French branch inadvertently published all or at least a good handful of the official specifications for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, whose launch seems imminent. Although the branch took down the page, that didn't stop leaker '@momomo_us' from taking a few screenshots to post on his Twitter account, where you can see some of the specs and performance compared to the RTX 3080 12GB.

On the other hand, something similar happened with the Japanese assembler ELSA after inadvertently publishing data and images of the RTX 4070 Ti ERAZOR OC , which appears to occupy between 3.5 and 4 slots in the case in which the computer is assembled. . This model was designed in collaboration with Inno3D and uses three fans for dissipation. Those who like discreet designs may appreciate it.

At this point, it is more than known that the RTX 4070 Ti is actually a 12 GB RTX 4080 that was canceled by NVIDIA due to the exaggerated differences in terms of performance compared to the 16 GB model, and it is that both supposed variants of the GPU were actually two models with different processors. After criticism, the green giant decided to cancel the RTX 4080 12GB alleging the “confusion” it generated among consumers, but since production was at a very advanced stage, it was obvious that it was going to become the advanced RTX 4070 Ti in order not to throw the work and material in the trash.

The now GeForce RTX 4070 Ti uses the AD104 graphics processor with 7,680 CUDA cores, 12 GB of GDDR6X memory and a 192-bit bus. It is important to note that, compared to its predecessor, the bus has been shortened, since the previous generation used a 256-bit one. However, the question of the power and capabilities of a graphics card is not simply to look above its specifications, so in terms of performance it is expected to be approximately 35% higher.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is set to launch on January 5, 2023, and NVIDIA could unveil it in style at CES 2023, which will take place from January 5 to 8 in Las Vegas.
